Rear Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Use clean brake fluid to lubricate components during installation. Install bleed screw. Install operating lever onto caliper. Install spring onto lever. Install seal and ensure it is not twisted and is seated in groove.
  2. Lubricate connecting link, new "O" ring and adjusting bolt, and install into caliper. Install snap ring. Lubricate new dust seal, and install seal onto piston. Install piston into caliper bore.
  3. Position manual adjustment gear into caliper. Using Allen wrench, turn adjustment gear counterclockwise until tight. Install plug in caliper. To complete assembly, reverse disassembly procedure. Bleed brakes. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
