Disassembly Non-ABS

  1. Remove master cylinder. Clean outside of master cylinder. Remove fluid reservoir cap. Drain brake fluid from master cylinder.
  2. Clamp master cylinder in vise at mounting flange. Remove plastic reservoir and seals. See Fig 1 .
  3. Press primary piston inward, and remove piston stop bolt (if equipped). Remove snap ring. Remove primary and secondary piston assemblies. If secondary piston is difficult to remove, apply compressed air to secondary outlet port to aid in piston removal.
