Pinpoint Test "F" 4WD Low Indicator Never Illuminates

DTC P1808 & P1810

1. Check Fuse 11
   
   Check instrument panel fuse No. 11. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown check instrument panel illumination system. See appropriate ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
2. Check 4WD Low Indicator Light
   
   Remove instrument cluster. Inspect 4WD high indicator light. Bulb resistance should be 3-8 ohms. Replace bulb if necessary. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
3. Check Light Blue/Black Wire For Open
   
   Disconnect GEM harness connector C3. See Figure . Disconnect instrument panel connector. Check continuity of Gray wire between GEM harness connector C3 terminal No. 10 and instrument panel harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next. If continuity does not exist, repair open Light Blue/Black wire. Clear and recheck for DTCs.
4. Check Orange/Black Wire For Battery Voltage
   
   With instrument panel harness connector C1 disconnected, turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage on Orange/Black wire at instrument panel harness connector. If battery voltage exists, system is okay. Clear and recheck for DTCs. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Orange/Black wire for short to power. Restore all electrical connectors. Clear and recheck for DTCs.
5. Check Light Blue/Black Wire For Short To Power
   
   Disconnect GEM harness connector C3. See Figure . Measure voltage between Gray wire at GEM connector C3 terminal 10 and ground. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 2). If battery voltage exists, repair Light Blue/Black wire for short to power.
