Pinpoint Test W - Trunk Ajar Warning Never/Always On
- Turn ignition on. Wait until prove-out cycle is completed. If warning light is on at all times, go to next step. Go to step 5) if warning light never comes on.
- Turn ignition off to reset warning. Unplug connector from trunk warning switch. Turn ignition on. Check for warning on message center. If warning still appears, go to next step. If warning goes out, replace trunk door warning switch.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug trunk ajar switch. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition on. Test for battery voltage on connector C2 pin No. 27 (Brown White wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Brown/White wire or replace lighting control module as necessary.
- Perform step 4) of PINPOINT TEST V . If all voltages are as specified, go to next step. Repair appropriate wire if voltages are not as specified.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from trunk warning switch. Connect jumper wire between Brown/White wire on harness connector and ground. Turn ignition on. Check for warning on message center. If warning does not appear, go to next step. If warning appears, replace switch.
- Leave jumper wire connected. Turn ignition off. Remove EIC. Inspect Brown/White for continuity between C2 connector pin No. 27 and trunk ajar switch. If continuity exists, temporarily substitute known good EIC, then retest system. Repair open Brown/White wire if continuity does not exist.
