Pinpoint Test GG - Low Oil Pressure Warning Never/Always On
- Turn ignition on. Wait until prove-out cycle is completed. If warning is always on, go to next step. If warning is never on, go to step 4).
- Unplug oil pressure sensor, located above oil filter. If warning does not go out, go to next step. If warning goes out, replace oil pressure sender.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug EIC. Inspect White/Red wire for a short to ground between connector C3 pin No. 8 and oil pressure sender. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, temporarily substitute known good EIC, then retest system.
- Perform step 4) of PINPOINT TEST V . If all voltages are as specified, go to next step. Repair appropriate wire if voltages are not as specified.
- Turn ignition off. Unplug oil pressure sensor, located above oil filter. Connect jumper wire between White/Red wire at oil pressure sender harness connector and ground. Turn ignition on. If oil pressure warning does not come on, go to next step. If oil pressure warning comes on, replace oil pressure sender.
- Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire. Unplug EIC. Inspect White/Red wire for continuity between connector C3 pin No. 8 and oil pressure sender. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, temporarily substitute known good EIC, then retest system.
