Pinpoint Test GA - Ambient Temperature Sensor Diagnosis

  1. Unplug connector C254 at EIC. Check for battery voltage at Light Green/Yellow wire at harness connector. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair appropriate wire, or replace fuse No. 4.
  2. Turn ignition on. Wait 30 seconds. Unplug ambient temperature sensor, located at front center of engine compartment, on upper radiator support. Measure resistance between sensor terminals. If resistance is 33,000 - 47,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
  3. Inspect Dark Blue/Yellow wire between sensor and EIC connector C254 for continuity and shorts. Inspect Gray/Red wire for continuity to ground. If wires are okay, replace EIC. Repair appropriate wire as necessary.
