Pinpoint Test BB - Cs Displayed, Gauge Blanks Out Fuel Tank Symbol, Lights 2 Top & 2 Bottom Bars Of Fuel Gauge
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Measure resistance between EIC harness connector C2-1 pin No. 2 (Yellow/White wire) and connector C2-1 pin No. 4 (Black/Light Blue wire of wiring harness. See Figure .
- Resistance should be greater than 5 ohms (normally 11-168 ohms). If resistance is within specification, replace instrument cluster. If resistance is not within specification, check for short in wiring harness or fuel tank sending unit.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Lower fuel tank to gain access to fuel tank sending unit. Unplug harness connector from fuel tank sending unit.
- Again measure resistance between instrument EIC harness connector pins specified in step 2). Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace fuel tank sending unit. If resistance is not as specified, repair short in fuel tank sending unit wiring.
