Pinpoint Test BA - Co Displayed, Gauge Blanks Out Fuel Tank Symbol, Lights 2 Top & 2 Bottom Bars Of Fuel Gauge
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Lower fuel tank to gain access to fuel tank sending unit. Unplug connector from fuel tank sending unit.
- Connect jumper wire between Yellow/White and Gray/Red of fuel tank sending unit harness connector. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. If CS appears, go to next step. If CO appears, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between terminals of fuel tank sending unit. Resistance should be less than 181 ohms (normally 11-168 ohms).
- If resistance is greater than 181 ohms, replace fuel tank sending unit. If resistance is less than 181 ohms, inspect fuel tank sending unit connector for defective terminals or loose connections.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Connect jumper wire between same terminals as in step 2). Inspect for continuity between EIC harness connector C2-1 pin No. 2 (Yellow/White wire) and connector C2-1 pin No. 4 (Black/Light Blue wire of wiring harness. See Figure .
- If continuity exists, replace instrument cluster. If continuity does not exist, repair open in sending unit wiring.
