With Tester

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from oil pressure sender. See the OIL PRESSURE SENDER LOCATION  table. Connect one lead of Rotunda Gauge Tester (021-00055) to sender wire at harness connector. Connect other tester lead to ground. Set ignition switch to ACC position.
  2. Set tester switch to 73 OHMS position. If gauge does not indicate "L", go to next step. If gauge indicates "L", set tester switch to 9.7 OHMS position. If gauge indicates approximately midrange, replace sender. If gauge does not indicate approximately midrange, go to next step.
  3. Check sender circuit wiring for shorts and opens. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace gauge.
