Without Tester

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from oil pressure sender. See the OIL PRESSURE SENDER LOCATION  table. Connect one terminal of 10-ohm resistor to sender wire at harness connector. Connect other resistor terminal to ground. Turn ignition on. Observe gauge. Gauge should indicate at midrange on scale.
  2. Substitute 73-ohm resistor for 10-ohm resistor. Gauge pointer should be close to "L" mark. If gauge indications are not as indicated, replace gauge and retest. If indications are as specified, replace oil pressure sender.
