Test J (Code 68) Height Sensor Output Shorted

  1. Turn air suspension switch to OFF position. Disconnect height sensor electrical connector. Turn air suspension switch to ON position. Perform SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If Code 68 is displayed, go to next step. If Code 71 is displayed, replace height sensor. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
  2. Turn air suspension switch to OFF position. Disconnect control module connectors. Measure resistance between pins No. 6 and 3 of Gray module connector. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, circuit No. 428 (Orange/Pink wire) has short circuit to ground. Go to next step before making repairs.
  3. Measure resistance between pins No. 6 and 17 of Gray module connector. See Figure . Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms in this step and step 2), replace control module. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less in this step and/or step 2), repair short circuit to ground in circuit No. 427 (Pink/Black wire) and/or circuit No. 428 (Orange/Pink wire). Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
