Test B (Code 42) Air Spring Solenoid Shorted

  1. Remove and inspect 30-amp fuse for circuit No. 414 (Orange/Red wire) located in fuse/relay box, behind battery. If fuse is good, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short circuit to ground in circuit No. 414. Replace 30-amp fuse and repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
    NOTE: If circuits No. 416 (Light Blue/Black) or No. 429 (Purple/Light Green) are shorted to ground, the corresponding spring solenoid valve will ALWAYS be open, even with ignition off.
  2. Turn air suspension switch off. Disconnect control module connectors. Turn air suspension switch on. Measure voltage between pins No. 13 and 6 of control module connectors. If 12 volts are indicated, go to next step. If zero volts are indicated, circuit No. 429 (Purple/Light Green wire) has short to ground. Go to next step before repairing.
  3. Measure voltage between pins No. 25 and 6 of control module connectors. If 12 volts are indicated in this step and step 2), replace control module. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS. If zero volts are indicated in this step and/or step 2), repair short circuit to ground in circuit No. 416 and/or circuit No. 429. Repeat SERVICE BAY DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS.
