Suspension - Rear Electronic Air: Operation: Notes

Rear air suspension system operates in ignition switch RUN position and has limited operation for one hour after ignition switch is turned to OFF position. The air suspension switch is located on right side of luggage compartment and must be turned off when vehicle is raised on a hoist, being towed or being jump started. If system malfunctions or air suspension switch has been turned off, driver is informed by a warning light or by the message center to right of speedometer (if equipped).

The rear air suspension operates by adding or removing air in springs to maintain a predetermined ride height. Height sensor signal is interpreted by control module. Control module signals air compressor assembly to add or remove air from system. Air required for leveling vehicle is distributed from air compressor to air springs by nylon air line, through a "Y" fitting, to each air spring.
