Washer Fluid Warning Never Comes On Or Is Always On
- Drain washer fluid from reservoir. Unplug electrical connector from windshield washer fluid sensor. Check sensor for continuity. If continuity does not exist, replace sensor.
- If continuity exists, reconnect sensor. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Operate wiper/washer switch. Measure voltage at wiper washer fluid sensor. If meter indicates 9 volts or less, check for an open in (Black/White wire) between switch and sensor.
- If meter indicates more than 9 volts, remove cluster, but leave wiring connected. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Operate wiper switch. Wiggle cluster connector "B" to check connection. If connection is intermittent, repair cluster connector "B" or flexible (printed) circuit on instrument cluster.
- If intermittent connection does not exist, remove cluster. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Operate washer fluid switch and measure voltage at cluster connector "B" terminal No. 15 (Pink/Yellow wire). See Figure . If voltage is less than 9 volts, check circuit No. 298 for open or short circuits. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, replace cluster.
- Remove cluster. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at cluster connector "B" terminal No. 15 (Pink/Yellow wire). If voltage is less than 3 volts, replace cluster. If voltage is greater than 3 volts, check circuit No. 298 (Pink/Yellow wire) for open or short circuits.
- Ensure reservoir is full. Unplug connector from windshield washer fluid sensor. Check for continuity across sensor. If continuity exists, replace sensor. If continuity does not exist, check for open or short in circuit No. 941 (Black/White wire).
