Low Oil Level Warning Is Always On

  1. Park vehicle on level surface. Check engine oil level, and adjust as necessary. Turn ignition off. Wait at least 2 minutes. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Check message center for warning. If no warning appears, system is okay.
  2. If warning is displayed, turn ignition off. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor, located on oil pan. Wait at least 2 minutes. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Check message center for warning. If warning is displayed, go to next step. If no warning is displayed, replace sensor.
  3. Remove cluster. Disconnect wire from oil level sensor. Check continuity from cluster connector "A" terminal No. 14 (White/Pink wire) to ground. See Figure . If continuity does not exist, replace cluster. If continuity exists, repair short in circuit No. 258 (White/Pink wire).
