Cluster Too Dim

  1. If part of cluster is dim and part of cluster is normal, replace cluster. If all displays are too dim, go to next step.
  2. If cluster will dim from 65 percent to almost off with headlights on, turn headlights off.
  3. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove cluster. Unplug connectors "A" and "B" at rear of cluster. Connect battery ground cable. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure headlights are off. Measure voltage at connector "A" terminal No. 13 (circuit No. 19, Light Blue/Red wire). See Figure . If voltage is less than 3 volts, replace cluster. If voltage is greater than 3 volts, repair circuit No. 19 and/or dimmer for short to voltage.
