Brake Warning Light Will Not Go Off

  1. Ensure parking brake is not on and brake fluid reservoir is full. Disconnect Red wire in turn from each device specified in steps 2)-7).
  2. Disconnect Red wire from brake fluid light checker, located near relay module, left of steering column. If BRAKE warning light goes out, replace ignition switch. If BRAKE warning light does not go out, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Red wire from parking brake switch. Parking brake warning switch is a single-pin wire connector located at parking brake switch, on parking brake lever.
  4. If BRAKE warning light goes out with Red wire disconnected, replace parking brake switch. If BRAKE warning light does not go out with Red wire disconnected, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect Red wire from brake fluid warning switch. Brake fluid warning switch is a 2-pin wire connector located at brake fluid level sensor, under brake fluid reservoir.
  6. If BRAKE warning light goes out, replace brake fluid warning switch. If BRAKE warning light does not go out with Red wire disconnected, go to next step.
  7. If light does not go off with Red wire removed from all switches, repair Red wire between switches and gauges.
