Fuel Pressure Release

NOTE: For installation reference, label all electrical connectors, vacuum hoses and fuel lines before removal. Also place mating marks on engine hood and other major assemblies before removal.
CAUTION: Relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel lines.
  1. Start engine. Release fuel pressure by either disconnecting fuel pump relay, or tripping inertia switch with engine running.
  2. Fuel pump relay is located behind left side of instrument panel, near steering column. See Fig 1. Inertia switch is located behind left rear liftgate interior trim panel. Inertia switch connector contains White/Red, Green/Black and Black wires.
  3. After removing fuel pump relay, or tripping inertia switch, allow engine to run until it stalls. Turn ignition off. Reconnect fuel pump relay, or reset inertia switch.
