Removal (Turbo)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and oxygen sensor connector. Drain cooling system. Disconnect hoses from air inlet and turbo compressor housing.
  2. Remove exhaust manifold heat shields. Disconnect oil supply/return lines and coolant lines from turbo. Disconnect EGR tube from exhaust manifold. Disconnect electrical connector and air tube from turbo boost control solenoid valve. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove mounting bracket from lower side of turbo. Discharge A/C system using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment, and remove line from A/C compressor. Remove oxygen sensor. Remove catalytic converter pipe from turbo joint pipe.
  4. Remove retaining nuts. Remove exhaust manifold with turbo and gaskets attached. Remove turbo from exhaust manifold if necessary.
