Rod Bearings

  1. Ensure connecting rod is installed so "F" mark on piston is opposite connecting rod oil hole. Assembly must be installed with "F" mark on piston toward front of engine. See Figure.
  2. Ensure bearing oil clearance and side play are within specification. See CRANKSHAFT MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  and CONNECTING RODS  tables under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article.
