Crankshaft & Main Bearings

  1. Before removing, mark locations of main bearing caps for reassembly reference.
  2. Ensure main bearing oil clearance and crankshaft end play are within specification. See CRANKSHAFT MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article. Replace thrust bearing if end play is not within specification.
