Circuit Test Q - Code 46, Left Front Impact Sensor Not Mounted To Vehicle Properly

NOTE: Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . After repairs are performed, recheck AIR BAG warning light for other fault codes. Perform system operation check. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
  1. INITIAL TEST PROCEDURE  - Deactivate SRS. See COMPLETE SYSTEM DEACTIVATION  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect diagnostic monitor. See Figure . Check resistance between terminal No. 22 (Tan/Black wire) of diagnostic monitor Black connector and ground. See Figure . If resistance is more than 2 ohms, go to step 2). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, replace diagnostic monitor. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.
  2. CHECK LEFT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR  - Disconnect left front impact sensor. Check resistance between circuit No. 622 (Purple/Light Green wire) of left front impact sensor connector and ground. See Fig 1 . If resistance is more than 2 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, locate and repair open in circuit No. 622 (Purple/Light Green wire). Reconnect all disconnected SRS connectors. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.

  3. VERIFY LEFT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR  - Remove left front impact sensor from vehicle. Clean front impact sensor bracket and mounting surfaces. Install sensor. Check resistance between circuit No. 622 (Purple/Light Green wire) of left front sensor connector and ground. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, reconnect all disconnected SRS connectors. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS. If resistance is more than 2 ohms, replace left front impact sensor.
