Circuit Test O - Code 44, Right Front Impact Sensor Not Mounted To Vehicle Properly
NOTE:
Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
. After repairs are performed, recheck AIR BAG warning light for other fault codes. Perform system operation check. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
.
- INITIAL TEST PROCEDURE - Deactivate SRS. See COMPLETE SYSTEM DEACTIVATION under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect diagnostic monitor. See Figure . Check resistance between terminal No. 20 (Purple/Light Green wire) of diagnostic monitor Black connector and ground. See Figure . If resistance is more than 2 ohms in both circuits, go to step 2). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, replace diagnostic monitor. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.
- CHECK RIGHT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR - Disconnect right front impact sensor. Check resistance between circuit No. 618 (Purple/Light Green wire) of right front impact sensor connector and ground. See Fig 1 . If resistance is more than 2 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, locate and repair open in circuit No. 618 (Purple/Light Green wire) between right front impact sensor connector and diagnostic monitor connector. Reconnect all disconnected SRS connectors. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.
- VERIFY RIGHT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR - Remove right front impact sensor from vehicle. Clean front impact sensor bracket and mounting surfaces. Install sensor. Check resistance between circuit No. 618 (Purple/Light Green wire) of right front impact sensor connector and ground. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, reconnect all disconnected SRS connectors. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS. If resistance is more than 2 ohms, replace right front impact sensor.
