Circuit Test H - Code 24, Rear SAFING Impact Sensor Diagnostic Circuit Open

NOTE: Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . After repairs are performed, recheck AIR BAG warning light for other fault codes. Perform system operation check. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .

INITIAL TEST PROCEDURE - Deactivate SRS. See COMPLETE SYSTEM DEACTIVATION under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Disconnect diagnostic monitor connectors. See Figure . Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 11 (Gray/Orange wire) and 12 (Purple/White wire) of diagnostic monitor Black connector. See Figure . If resistance is more than one ohm, go to step 2). If resistance is less than one ohm, replace diagnostic monitor. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.
VERIFY INOPERATIVE REAR SAFING IMPACT SENSOR - Disconnect rear safing impact sensor. See Figure . Check resistance between circuits No. 614 (Gray/Orange wire) and 623 (Purple/White wire) of rear safing impact sensor connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than one ohm, locate and repair open in circuits No. 614 (Gray/Orange wire) and/or 623 (Purple/White wire). Reconnect diagnostic monitor connectors and rear safing impact sensor connector. When repairs are complete, check AIR BAG warning light for codes with Air Bag Simulator(s) (105-00008) still in place of air bag module(s). See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . If system checks okay, reactivate SRS.
