Intake Manifold: Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure and disconnect fuel lines. See, in this article, FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE & FUEL LINE CONNECTIONS . Remove hood. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove air intake tube from throttle body. Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness at connector at right shock tower. Disconnect cam position sensor and crank angle sensor.
    NOTE: Crank angle sensor is located on front of engine. Cam position sensor is located behind intake manifold, at rear of cylinder head. See Fig 1.

  3. Partially drain cooling system. Disconnect control cables from throttle body. Remove accelerator cable bracket from intake manifold.
  4. Disconnect necessary electrical connections and vacuum hoses. Remove retaining nuts, intake manifold and gasket.
