Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Removal

1. Remove camshaft followers and lash adjusters. See, in this article, CAMSHAFT FOLLOWER & LASH ADJUSTER .
2. Remove timing chains. See TIMING CHAINS . Remove camshaft cap-to-cylinder head bolts in sequence. See Figure. Tap on camshaft caps in designated areas to remove camshaft caps. Refer to Fig 1. Remove camshaft caps and camshaft.
