Pinpoint Test SJ Speed Control Indicator In Instrument Cluster Is Always On

  1. Checking Speed Control Amplifier: Ensure vehicle has Brown speed control amplifier, located at left rear of engine compartment, near EEC module. Speed control amplifier has a 6-pin and an 8-pin connector. Unplug 8-pin connector.
  2. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Observe whether indicator goes off. If indicator goes off, replace speed control amplifier. If indicator stays on, go to step 3).
  3. Checking Wiring: Check for misrouted or damaged Orange/Light Blue wire between speed control amplifier and instrument cluster. If wiring is okay, go to step 4). If wiring is misrouted or damaged, repair as necessary.
  4. Checking Instrument Cluster: Unplug instrument cluster connector C2-2. See Figure . If indicator stays on, replace instrument cluster. If indicator goes off, repair Orange/Light Blue wire between speed control amplifier and instrument cluster.
