Instrument Cluster: Removal

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIP Section. Apply parking brake. Unsnap center moldings on both sides of instrument cluster. Remove steering column cover and shroud.
  2. Remove knobs for auto dim and auto lamp (if equipped). Remove instrument panel screws. Pull instrument panel outward. Unplug electrical connectors.
  3. Unplug connector from front of instrument cluster. Disconnect shift indicator by bending bottom tab downward and pulling shift indicator assembly forward.
  4. Pull instrument cluster outward. Unplug remaining electrical connectors. Remove instrument cluster.
