Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

  1. Remove fuel gauge sending unit from tank. Connect negative DVOM lead to ground terminal or housing of sending unit. Connect positive DVOM lead to Yellow/White wire resistance terminal. With float at EMPTY position (near filter), DVOM should indicate about 14-18 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
  2. Observe meter while moving float to FULL position; resistance should change smoothly. Resistance with float at FULL position should be about 155-165 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
