Removal & Installation (Mustang)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove headlight and hazard switches. See HEADLIGHT SWITCH R & I and HAZARD FLASHER SWITCH R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. See Figure. Remove upper and lower retaining screws from cluster housing. Remove housing assembly. See Fig 1.
Remove cluster retaining screws. Pull cluster away from panel. Release speedometer cable by pressing on flat surface of plastic connector.
Pull cluster away from instrument panel. Unplug printed circuit harness connectors from receptacles in cluster backplate. Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
