Removal & Installation (Cougar & Thunderbird)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cluster finish panel retaining screws. Pull off headlight switch knob to remove. Unsnap cluster finish panel from instrument panel. Remove harness connector from dimmer control.
  2. Pull headlight switch shaft fully out (ON position). Reach through opening near headlight switch. Press release button on top of headlight switch and remove switch shaft.
  3. Remove headlight switch retaining nut. Pull switch through opening. Unplug harness connector. To install, reverse removal procedure.
