Bench Testing

  1. Mount one end of Traction-Lok Torque Adapter (T59L-4204-A) in vise. Position assembled differential case over adapter. See Fig 1 . Using top end of Traction-Lok torque adapter and torque wrench, measure torque required to rotate one side gear while other side gear is held stationary.

  2. Initial break-away torque for original clutch pack should NOT be less than 20 ft. lbs. (27 N.m). For NEW clutch packs, break-away torque should be 80-200 ft. lbs. (108-272 N.m). If less than specified, check differential for proper assembly. Install ring gear using new bolts and Loctite thread locking compound.
