Axle Shafts & Bearings: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels and brake drums. Remove housing cover and drain lubricant. Remove differential pinion shaft lock bolt and pinion shaft.
- To prevent damage during axle shaft removal, remove ABS wheel speed sensor (if equipped). Push axle toward center and remove "C" locks. Remove axle shaft. Use care not to damage axle seal. Using a slide hammer and puller, remove bearing and seal as a unit.
