Installation (Tempo & Topaz)

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Always replace snap ring on CV joint stub shaft.
  2. Carefully align splines on axle shaft with differential splines. Push CV joint until snap ring seats in groove in side gear.
  3. Attach lower ball joint to steering knuckle; DO NOT damage or cut ball joint boot. Install new pinch bolt and new nut. Tighten nut to specification; DO NOT tighten bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS (FLC) table at end of article. Fill transaxle with ATF. Check and adjust axle shaft positioning. See FWD AXLE SHAFT POSITIONING SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article.
