Activating System (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis & Town Car)
- Ensure battery POSITIVE cable is disconnected. Wait one MINUTE. Remove air bag simulator(s) from driver's air bag and passenger's air bag wiring harness connectors (if equipped).
- Reconnect driver's air bag connector to air bag module. Install driver's air bag module on steering wheel, and tighten nut and washer assemblies to 24-32 INCH lbs. (2.7-3.6 N.m).
- Reconnect passenger's air bag connector to air bag module (if equipped). Tighten FRONT air bag bolts to 68-92 INCH lbs. (5.7-7.7 N.m) and REAR bolts to 24-32 INCH lbs. (2.7-3.6 N.m). See Fig 1 . Install glove box. Reconnect positive battery cable. Perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
