Activating System (Continental)

  1. Ensure battery POSITIVE cable is disconnected. Wait one MINUTE. Remove air bag simulator(s) from driver's air bag and passenger's air bag wiring harness connector (if equipped).
  2. Reconnect driver's air bag connector to air bag module. Install driver's air bag module on steering wheel, and tighten nut and washer assemblies to 36-49 INCH lbs. (4.0-5.5 N.m).
  3. Reconnect passenger's air bag connector to air bag module (if equipped). Tighten air bag BOLT to 68-92 INCH lbs. (5.7-7.7 N.m) and SCREWS to 24-32 INCH lbs. (2.7-3.6 N.m). Close glove box door. Reconnect positive battery cable. Perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
