Washer Fluid Never Illuminates Or Illuminated At All Times

  1. Ensure washer fluid is drained from reservoir. Disconnect electrical connector from windshield washer fluid sensor. Check sensor for continuity. If no continuity exists, replace sensor.
  2. If continuity exists, reconnect sensor. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and actuate wiper/washer switch. Measure voltage (with respect to ground) at wiper washer fluid sensor. If 9 volts or less is present, test wiper/washer switch or check for an open between switch and sensor.
  3. If 9 volts or greater is present, remove cluster and leave connected. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and actuate wiper switch. With wiper switch actuated, wiggle cluster connector "B" and check connection. If connection is intermittent, repair cluster connector "B" or flexible circuit on cluster.
  4. If no intermittent connection exists, remove cluster. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Actuate washer fluid switch and measure voltage at pin No. 15 of cluster connector "B" and ground. If 9 volts or less is present, check circuit No. 298 for open or short circuits. If 9 volts or more are present, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar.
  5. Remove cluster. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and measure voltage at pin No. 15 of cluster connector "B" and ground. If less than 3 volts is present, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar. If more than 3 volts is present, check circuit No. 298 for open or short circuits.
  6. Ensure reservoir is full. Disconnect electrical connector from windshield washer fluid sensor. If continuity exists, replace sensor. If no continuity exists, check for open or short circuits in circuit No. 941.
