Door Ajar Warning Never/Always Comes On
- Following steps are to be repeated for each door ajar switch. Starting with driver's door, front passenger and then rear passenger's door. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. This resets the warning. Pull connector off door ajar switch. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check message center for warning. Repeat until no warning is displayed or all door switches are disconnected. If no warning is displayed, replace last switch tested.
- If warning was still displayed, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove cluster. Check continuity between pins No. 17 and No. 18 of cluster connector "A". If no continuity exists, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar. If continuity exists, check circuit No. 627 (Black/Orange wire) for a short circuit.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Pull connector off of problem door ajar switch. Connect jumper wire from circuit No. 627 (Black/Orange wire) at harness connector to ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check message center for warning. If warning is displayed, replace door ajar switch. If no warning is displayed, go to next step.
- Leave jumper connected as in step 3). Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove cluster. Check continuity between pins No. 17 and No. 8 of cluster connector "A". If continuity exists, replace message center module. If no continuity exists, repair circuit No. 627 (Black/Orange wire) for open circuit.
