CS Displayed, Gauge Blanks Out Fuel Tank Symbol & Lights Up Top 2 & Bottom 2 Bars Of Gauge

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove cluster and secure connectors to keep them from shorting. Measure resistance between pins No. 6 and No. 8 of cluster connector "A". Resistance should be 11-168 ohms. If resistance is 11-168 ohms, replace cluster and affix odometer sticker to door pillar. If resistance is not as specified, a short circuit exists in harness or sender.
  2. Disconnect battery ground cable. Lower fuel tank to gain access to fuel sender connector. Unplug connector of fuel sender. Measure resistance between pins No 6 and No. 8 of cluster connector "A". Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace sender. If resistance is not as specified, check fuel sender wiring for a short circuit.
