Fuel Gauge Sender/Pump Unit

  1. Remove fuel sender/pump unit from tank. Connect DVOM lead to ground terminal or housing of sending unit; connect other lead to Yellow/White wire resistance terminal. With float at EMPTY position (near filter), DVOM should read about 14-18 ohms. If reading is not as indicated, replace sender/pump unit.
  2. Move float to FULL position, resistance should change smoothly. Resistance with float at FULL position should be about 155-165 ohms. If resistance is not as described, replace sender/pump unit.
