Qt-7 Continuous Test

Verify that ABS warning light flashes more than once every 10 seconds. Clear all codes from memory. Hook up voltmeter and jumper wire as in QT-5. Start engine. Tap, move and wiggle suspect sensor and/or harness, working with short sections from sensor to dash panel and to ABS control unit. It may be necessary to drive vehicle each time this is done to re-create the intermittent failure and to allow the control unit to sense and record a service code.

If light flashes more than once every 10 seconds, record voltmeter service codes and refer to CODE IDENTIFICATION CHART "A". See Figure . If light flashes once every 10 seconds, record voltmeter service codes and refer to CODE IDENTIFICATION CHART "A". See Figure . Service only codes re-created in this test. If light is on but no voltmeter service codes, this is normal operation.

If intermittent fault cannot be re-created, disconnect suspect sensor and control unit from harness. Visually inspect all terminals for corrosion, bad crimps, improperly seated terminals, etc. Reconnect harness connectors and reattempt QT-7.
