Rear Spindle: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle and remove wheel. Remove dust cap and staked nut from spindle. Remove brake drum and backing plate on drum systems. Remove caliper and rotor if disc brake equipped.
  2. Loosen, but DO NOT remove, spindle-to-strut mounting bolts. Remove common lateral link arm bolt and nut. Remove trailing arm mounting bolt at spindle. Remove spindle-to-strut mounting bolts. Remove spindle.
