Temperature Gauge Test

  1. Disconnect water temperature sensor connector. Water temperature sensor connector is located on top left rear side of engine.
  2. Connect one lead of Gauge System Tester (Rotunda 021-00055) to Yellow/Green wire at connector and other lead to ground. Set tester to specified resistance values. See TESTING TEMPERATURE GAUGE illustration.
  3. Turn ignition on (engine not running). Ensure gauge indicator needle displays correct values. Continue test for 2 minutes on each setting to correctly judge gauge condition. Allowable error is twice width of gauge needle.
  4. If readings are within range, go to TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK. If readings are not within range, replace temperature gauge.
