Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Check

  1. Remove service hole cover to remove fuel tank sending unit. Disconnect main fuel hose. Remove fuel tank sending unit.
  2. Connect ohmmeter to fuel tank sending unit connector "A" and "B" terminals. Compare resistance values. See CHECKING FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT illustration.

  3. If resistance values are as listed, check for loose or dirty connections at fuel tank sending unit connector. If resistance values are not as listed, replace fuel tank sending unit.
