Test Th: Voltmeter Does Not Give No Charge Alert (Blinking Battery ISO Symbol)
- Verify Condition
Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe voltmeter, and check for blinking ISO battery symbol. If ISO battery symbol is blinking, system is okay. If ISO battery symbol is not blinking, go to next step.
- Check Voltmeter
Jumper wire alternator regulator terminal "I" to ground. If voltmeter ISO battery symbol starts blinking, problem exists in alternator regulator. Repair as required. If voltmeter battery symbol does not start blinking, go to next step.
- Check Wiring To Cluster
Disconnect alternator regulator connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, check voltage at alternator regulator connector terminal "I". If battery voltage exists, replace Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC). See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Light Green/Red wire.
