Test FC-A: Distance To Empty Always Reads 15-50 Miles To Empty Or Is Not Accurate

  1. Reset Fuel Computer

    Ensure fuel tank has more than 6 gallons of fuel. Disconnect negative battery cable for more than 5 minutes to reset fuel computer memory. Reconnect battery cable. Perform distance to empty test. See FUEL COMPUTER DISPLAY under OPERATION. If miles to empty display is now greater than 50, go to ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYMPTOM TEST INDEX  . If miles to empty display is now less than 50, replace Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC). See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
