Test Dd: Display Will Not Dim With Headlights On

  1. Check Wiring

    Remove Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC). See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM, backprobe between ground and EIC connector "B" terminal No. 13 circuit 19 (Light Blue/Red wire). Turn headlights on. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Go to next step

  2. Check Switch

    If voltage reading varies between 7-14 volts while dimmer control is rotated, check for intermittents at connections. If no problem exists at connections, replace EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage reading remains constant between 11-15 volts while dimmer control is rotated, replace headlight switch. If voltage reading shows no voltage, check for blown fuses, short/open in related wiring or faulty headlight switch.
