Removal (Sable & Taurus)
- Remove instrument cluster finish panel retaining screws. Remove finish panel. On tachometer-equipped Sable, remove lower trim panel attaching screws and panel. On all models, remove 8 mask and lens attaching screws. Remove mask and lens.
- On tachometer-equipped Sable, remove lower bulb and socket assemblies. On all models, remove entire dial assembly from instrument cluster by carefully pulling it away from backplate.
- On column shift vehicles, remove screws attaching transmission selector indicator to main dial. Remove indicator from cluster. On all models, manually rotate pointer to align with slot in dial. Remove mounting screws and carefully pull gauge or tachometer away from dial, guiding pointer through slot.
