TRIPMINDER Interface Module (Mark VII LSC)

The tripminder interface module provides the correct fuel level signal to the tripminder. The tripminder uses this signal when calculating the distance-to-empty function. The module is a small printed circuit board, and attaches to the rear of the instrument panel with one screw. The module is connected directly to the instrument cluster flex circuit with 4 spring-type connectors built into the module.

The tripminder interface module is used in conjunction with a special 3-pin fuel sending unit. The magnetic fuel gauge uses one half of the sending unit and the tripminder interface uses the other half. The input to the module is a resistance that varies between 10 ohms (full) and 155 ohms (empty). The output from the module is a voltage that varies between 3.5 volts (full) and .4 volts (empty). The module also has accessory power (hot with illuminated entry) and ground.
