Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC): Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove headlight switch knob. See HEADLIGHT SWITCH  . Remove instrument cluster finish panel by removing 2 trim retaining screws on upper inside surface. Carefully pull away instrument cluster finish panel to detach spring clips around perimeter of trim panel.
  2. Unplug connector on rear of autolamp switch. See Figure . Remove autolamp switch. See AUTOLAMP SWITCH  . Place clean, soft cloth over steering column shroud to prevent scratching cluster finish. Remove 4 cluster retaining screws. Pull bottom of cluster toward steering wheel. Place clean, soft cloth over lens to prevent scratches. Reaching behind cluster, unplug 2 connectors. Swing bottom of cluster out to clear top of cluster from crash pad, and remove cluster.
